Defender 2007-2016 bolt in mount kit (M57N Steel block)

BMW M57N engine and ZF 6/8 speed automatic gearbox mounting kit for M57 steel block engines. This kit is complete ‘bolt in’ no cutting or welding is required to the TDCI chassis. You use the original TDCI engine mounting rubbers and the original TDCI gearbox mounting rubbers.

Note this kit will fit the M57 steel block engine code ‘306D2’ however you cannot use the stock turbo in its original position. You would either need to make the turbo a ‘top mount’ flipping the manifold over, or the best option we find is to use the exhaust manifold and turbo from the M57N2 alloy block engine, engine code ‘306D3’. This will then allow clearance for the mounting kit. If your M57N was a vacuum operated actuated turbo then you will need to have the ECU programmed to control an electric operated actuator turbo as the 306D3 is electronic controlled. You will need the connector plug for the electric actuator, splice in the original vacuum solenoid control wires correctly and add an earth/ground for the extra wire on the electronic actuator. You will also need the M57N2 air intake pipe from air box down to turbo position is further forward on the M57N2 engine so you need the corresponding air intake pipe.

We find changing to the later M57N2 turbo is much better as you can get increased performance out of these so is beneficial to upgrade to this turbo type.
